Perfect For The 'Portal' Lover: The Companion Cube Keychain

What better way to stay single by carrying your very own little companion cube with you! Made with geeky love from .100" thick reclaimed aluminum. It measures 1.25" x 1.25" (about 3cm x 3cm). The surface has a brushed finish that will wear over time. It's attached to a clip style key holder with a flexible metal cord. End to end it's almost 4." You know what else is also 4" end to end? Oh...wait. Nevermind. Anywho, it's currently sold out, but I'm sure you can find it somewhere in eBay or whatever. Click pic.

Who's Not Ready To Leave The Party?

Find out with the BACtrack Breathalyzer. If you host a lot of parties or simply do a lot of drinking, you might want to check out this thing out ($72). This helpful gadget uses BluFire sensor technology to provide quick, accurate blood alcohol level readings, keeping you (or your guests) from over-indulging and getting behind the wheel — or worse, leaving with their ex-wife. The Alphabet of Manliness

Maddox is a fucking genius. A genius that wrote this book. So you need to buy it. That's all you have to do. Buy for someone for Xmas, Valentine's Day, or just buy it for someone you hate. Just buy it. I'm not even going to describe it because that seems stupid. Click the pic to jump to Amazon and then click the pic there to read the first few pages. Genius!

HOLY FUCKING SHIT: RADIOHEAD NOMINATED FOR SEVEN GRAMMY AWARDS

I never thought I'd see this day. Something, somewhere, has gone right, or wrong with the world. Radiohead's 'In Rainbows' (according to their MySpace profile) has been nominated for Album of the Year!

In addition to that amazing feat, the album has also been nominated for Best Alternative Music Album, Best Boxed or special Limited Edition Package, the track "House Of Cards" was nominated for Best Rock Song, Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals, and Best Short Form Music Video. Producer Nigel Godrich was nominated for Producer of the Year, Non-Classical for his work on the album.

In addition to that, I'm very pleased to announce that Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood's work in 'There Will Be Blood' has been nominated for Best Score Soundtrack Album.

Good luck, guys. Take home every one of them.

AWESOME: The Craziest Video You'll See All Day

I'm not a fan of Metallica. In fact, there's only two or three songs of theirs I can stand. But Jeezy Creezy this video is nuts. I've watched it twice and I still don't know what the hell the song sounds like. Check it out.

The 2008 Christmas List

Well ladies and jellyspoons, it's that time of year again. Christmas. And it's time for you to start spending all your money on everyone else while you take "liquor breaks" at all the restaurants around the mall. It's been a quick year, and I've been preparing for this very post since the start of this year specifically for you...people that just can't figure out what to get for all your friends and family, or just that person that thinks they have everything.

Now, keep in mind, all the items listed were simply featured here on Nothing For X. I thought they were worth mentioning and hey, some might very well make a good gift for this time, or any time of the year. No, this is not my personal Xmas list but just because I may not want/need it doesn't mean someone else might not.

Click here for the 2008 Christmas List.

And if you'd like more, click here for the 2007 Christmas List.

Be sure to click on the "Older Posts" link at the bottom of the page so you don't miss anything. Below are some of the items you'll find. Happy shopping and Happy Holidays.

Get Ready To Get Donkey Konged To Death

Add to your retro gaming collection with this Atari 2600 Package ($120). It includes an original, simulated wood grain 2600 console, 20 games including Asteroids, Donkey Kong, the infamous E.T., and Missile Command, two joysticks and two paddle controllers, a power supply, installation instructions and all the necessary hook-ups. Funny, 'cause something tells me if you're looking to purchase this for yourself, "hook-ups" probably isn't in your vocabulary. Wow! That's the second time I've used "hook-ups" in 5 years ;,( Click pic.

Everyone Could Use This Right About Now

Some people are notoriously bad at wrapping gifts. Help them evolve this year with the OpenX Precision Wrapping Paper Slitter ($6).

This handy dandy tool, with its scissor-beating gliding action, makes you look so good that you'll get accusations of taking advantage of the donation-only Girl Scout wrapping kiosk at the mall. And probably of the actual girl scouts. but I'll try not to repeat last year's mistakes. Click pic for more.

HateMail For The Holidays

Thanks to Twitter buddy Andigannon for showing me HateMail. There's a lot of fun to be had with gretting cards that say such things as "Looks like you've donned your gay apparel" or "Restraining order be damned. I'll see you at Christmas." Click pic.
