I've Been Dying To Reach You
"Dear Child (I've Been Dying To Reach You) by Anthony Green
This album comes out August 5th, so I'm not sure what's going on, 'cause I've had this on my iPod since December 2006 labeled under Saosin, the band he sang for before jumping to Circa Survive. I don't know how I even got it, but I got it. So I guess I can say, it's about time.

Spider-Man: Web Of Shadows
I'm not the biggest Spider-Man fan out there, but this video game looks pretty fucking bad-ass. The alien symbiote goop that Peter uses for a suit in the comics and in Spider-Man 3 and ultimately turns into Venom, starts showing up all over the city. It begins an invasion and starts taking people over. So there's a buch of Venom-like creatures attacking shit. Here's a few screen shots.
Yes, that them.

Yes, that's Wolverine.

And yes, that's Wolverine taken over.

Click the pics to jump to the trailer. It takes a minute or two to load. Be patient.

Worst Fashion Show EVER
"We need to show off the new uniforms."
"How about a fashion show?"
"That's a terrible idea."
"How about a fashion show...with interpretive dance?"
"NOW you're talking."
Note the applause at the end. That's when I really started laughing.
Dancing Mega Man can't even believe what he just saw.

Weekend Mixtape!!! 7/25/2008
Hey everyone. I've got a couple interesting things in this one. Like new stuff from The Stills, some Aphex Twin, and even some Silverchair. Enjoy.

Happy Birthday Siamese Dream
15 years ago today an album was released that changed my life. The Smashing Pumpkins became my favorite band and ultimately pushed me to learn guitar. I listened to them non-stop. This (sadly) is a different story today being that they/Billy Corgan cannot come close to matching what they produced before. Here's a few songs from the album.
Today - This single blew everthing out of the water when it was released with its use of dynamics not really heard at the time. The non-performance video (a rarity at the time) only helped soar the songs popularity.
Disarm - Butch Vig produced the Pumpkins' first album 'Gish' in 1991. After that, he went on to produce Nirvana's earth-shattering album 'Nevermind'. He then went on to work with many other grunge artist before re-uniting with the Pumpkins on 'Siamese Dream." It's noted that when he first heard this track, he knew it'd be another hit for the band.
Soma - This is one of my favorite Pumpkins songs fo all time. Corgan says the song "is based on the idea that a love relationship is almost the same as opium: it slowly puts you to sleep, it soothes you, and gives you the illusion of sureness and security." It was not released as a single and is one of the few songs off the album with shared writing credits (Billy Corgan & James Iha). Billy Corgan is a perfectionist in the studio and this song only displays that having over 40 guitars overdubbed throughout the track. On a side note, Rolling Stone rated the guitar solo as the 24th best of all time.
I think it's time to listen to it again.

Oh. My. God. Wait...Tr2n??? Did They Really Put A '2' In There??? WTF?
Okay. A little back story here. Many, many moons ago, I wanted to be a film director. And among the many ideas I had at the time, re-making or making a sequel to Disney's 'Tron' was one of them. I thought that with the technology we have now, it would be worth it. Well, at Comic-Con, they showed the trailer. It starts off tiny at first. But then the genius zooms in on it. Click pic.

BRAKES!!!...Wait, NO!!!
This is what happens when you use the front brakes on your bike when you really, really shouldn't be using the front brakes on your bike.
Why Do You Drive Like A F*cking Idiot When You're On the Phone?
Confirmed: Aliens Do Exist
Dr. Edgar Mitchell, sixth man to walk on the moon, is claiming that aliens are real and have made human contact.

"I happen to have been privileged enough to be in on the fact that we've been visited on this planet and the UFO phenomena is real,' Dr. Mitchell said.
'It's been well covered up by all our governments for the last 60 years or so, but slowly it's leaked out and some of us have been privileged to have been briefed on some of it.
Chillingly, he claimed our technology is 'not nearly as sophisticated' as theirs and 'had they been hostile', he warned 'we would be been gone by now.'"
Below is the interview that contains that quote.
I'm not worried though. I've got my DeLorean and my Hover Board now. All I need is a weapon. Maybe a hand-held device that can drill into them. Maybe tickle them at the same time so they laugh while I kill them. If only I knew of an object like that...

HOLY CRAP!!!: Marty McFly's Hover Board Is On eBay!
My god. I don't even know what to say! I've been wanting one of these for the longest time!

"This is one of the hero Mattel Hoverboards used by Michael J. Fox in his most famous role as "Marty McFly" in the Robert Zemeckis classic 80s trilogy, Back to the Future. Two styles of Hoverboard were made for and employed in the film - lightweight boards of styrofoam construction and thick and durable wood-based props - this example is the latter, and is recognized as the best example of all wood Hoverboards to have survived the rigors of filming.
It is in used but outstanding condition, and is very rare in that it is entirely complete and intact. Given the wood build and use of metal components, it looks and feels like a "real" prop. This piece has the complete fully functional and rear ballbearing-mounted footpad that rotates 360 degrees, as well as the bottom "magnet plates". Of the two styles of stickers used for the effects, this prop has the "photoboard"-style sticker affixed. In addition, there is other textured styling and hand painting. This Hoverboard also features the hole in the top, representing where the handlebars were that "Marty" pulled off after borrowing the "toy" from the little girl in the film."
Unfortunately the bidding starts at (are you sitting down?) $30,000. I think I'm gonna have to go back to the future and kill some kids and take theirs from them. Then, I will rule the world.

Jim Carrey Might Be Funny Again
Here's the trailer for Yes Man where he challenges himself to say "yes" to everything. It's about time he does something that actually looks funny. The last funny thing he did was Liar Liar...and no, Dick and Jane doesn't count.

So I Was At the Bookstore the Other Day...
...and I found a nice little handful of books that I'd like to post here in case you're looking for a little something to kill a little bit of time or if you're looking for a gift for someone.
Piano & Keyboard Chords - I've always wanted to learn how to play the piano. I taught myself how to play a couple other instruments so this might help me reach my goal. But it's got a chord per page and it's got big pictures. And we all know how I LOVE big pictures right? Right? Click pic for more.

Barguements - Unfortunately, I can't find anything on this book. The book's website server sucks and won't respond and even though I found this at Borders, they don't even know they have this book. But whatever. Basically, it's a book of questions that will lead you and your friends to a discussion of this or that but nothing too complicated to talk about after three beers. The only question I can remember is "You cell phone has to lose one feature: Voicemail or Caller ID." Stuff like that can really lead to major discussions when you're buzzin'.
Murder At Wayne Manor - For you Batman fans out there here's a little interactive mystery. It has to do with a dead body found at Wayne Manor, but it's been there for 30 years. So everyone points the finger at Bruce Wayne's father. So it's up to you and Bruce to solve the mystery. Bonus: it comes with the clues so you can fuck with them. :) Click pic for more.

My Custom Van…And 50 Other Mind-Blowing Essays That Will Blow Your Mind All Over Your Face - I can't say anything bad about Michael Ian Black. Hima dn I have the same sense of humor but he's famous and I'm not. I laughed my ass off yesterday reading this book for just five minutes. Totally worth every penny. Click pic for more.

Borat To Play "Los Defensores" Guy
Taking a cue from the clever guy at a law school Halloween party, Sacha Cohen has signed on to produce and possibly star in Accidentes, a film about an ambulance-chasing personal injury lawyer to be written by Peter Baynham, a writer on Borat.

"The protag will be a lawyer of Latin descent who transforms from contingency attorney to hero of the working class when he helps an immigrant win a judgment against his wealthy employer after a landscaping mishap. He also becomes the enemy of L.A.’s power elite." - Variety
I can't wait to see this. I'm sure it might suck, but I remember seeing these commercials when I was on summer vacation and flipping channels and doing a whole lot of nothing. Kinda like now. Something I just noticed...in that pic, where the hell are dude's arms coming from?

Chick Gets Rifled - Watch more free videos
Here's the story. This clip is the 2nd season finale of The OC. Dude 1 is getting killed by Dude 2 and then Chick comes in and saves the day. I never watched the show, but it was on where I was at and thought it was a good way to end things.
And if you don't know why the rifle clip is funny now, there's a spoof that SNL did which makes me crack up every time...
